MSM Connect Events

MSM Connect will offer online and in-person events in the upcoming year.
All of our events are included at no cost for MSM Connect members.
Our events are designed to provide opportunities for seniors and their caregivers to learn, feel supported by, and be connected to the broader Muskoka community, including professionals and industry experts.
1. Your Questions Answered
An interview series exploring seniors’ questions about topics that matter to them.
Each month, we interview trusted professionals and community experts to answer real senior’s questions about topics that affect everyday life and help make your life easier.
Enjoy learning about a topic of the month about issues that matter to you from the comfort of your own home!
We welcome your questions and invite you to submit them in advance on our Contact page. Selected questions may be included in upcoming interviews. (A full topic schedule will be shared soon in our upcoming calendar).
There will be 12 topics per year. Current topics are as follows (subject to change):
- Health & Wellness (i.e. physical, mental, emotional challenges and coping methods)
- Home (i.e. maintenance, safety and security, downsizing, retirement homes, selling/buying cottages or homes)
- Finance (i.e. shopping on a budget, nutrition on a budget, maneuvering healthcare expenses)
- Wills & Estates (i.e. what’s involved and affordable ways to manage them)
- IT (i.e. computers, phones, tablets, and internet safety)
- Travel (i.e. on a budget, alone, local, outside region, abroad)
- Accessibility (i.e. access to facilities, appointments, services, and supports, coping with mobility issues, and devices)
- Food/Nutrition (i.e. access, preparation, tips for groceries/nutrition on a budget)
- Exercise (i.e. the importance of it, and simple exercises you can do from home or at facilities that support you)
- Grief (i.e. causes, what grief looks like/different types, and how to cope)

2. Annual in-person MSM Connect Events (coming soon!):
Learning Series event:
Have the opportunity to get to know our industry experts and learn more about their helpful tips and guidance in person!
This workshop will feature a variety of Muskoka’s leaders that can help you maneuver your way through industry systems and learn more about what works.
3. Open Mic event (date to be determined!):
Meet storytellers and writers of MUSKOKA SENIORS MAGAZINE and the broader community, listen to their heartfelt and funny stories and poetry, and enjoy some snacks and friendly camaraderie with fellow Muskoka community members.
These in-person events will be hosted annually (dates to be determined), so don’t miss out on your membership benefits to join!
